Westpac + PayDay FAQs
Common questions from Westpac customers about using PayDay.
Does PayDay work with the Westpac One app?
Yes! PayDay operates independently and doesn't affect your Westpac One app at all. You continue using Westpac One for everyday banking while PayDay handles automatic pay splitting in the background.
Will I still earn Online Bonus Saver interest?
Absolutely! PayDay's automatic deposits count toward Westpac's Online Bonus Saver requirements. Automated consistent deposits help ensure you qualify for the bonus rate every month without thinking about it.
Can I split my Westpac pay to other banks?
Yes! This is one of PayDay's best features. You can split your Westpac pay to your own accounts at ANZ, ASB, BNZ or Kiwibank. Perfect if you keep a joint account at a different bank.
Is it safe to connect my Westpac account?
Completely safe. PayDay uses Akahu, New Zealand's open finance platform. Your login credentials go directly to Westpac's secure site, never seen or stored by PayDay.
What happens during Westpac maintenance?
If Westpac's systems are temporarily unavailable, PayDay picks up your pay on a later check once the connection is back. If a split payment fails, PayDay does not retry it automatically. You'll get an email and can retry it from the app. This rarely affects pay processing.
Can I connect multiple Westpac accounts?
Yes, when you connect Westpac you can choose to link any or all of your Westpac accounts including Choice, Notice Saver, Online Bonus Saver, and more. Split to any combination of these accounts.
