Common questions
How do I connect my bank account to PayDay?
You connect through Akahu, New Zealand's open finance platform. Choose your bank in the app, log in on your bank's own secure page, and confirm the connection. It takes about 30 seconds and PayDay never sees or stores your internet banking password. The full walkthrough is in the getting started guide.
Why didn't my split happen automatically?
The usual causes are that the deposit came from a name PayDay does not recognise as your pay source, the bank connection needs refreshing, split rules were switched off, or automation is paused. Check your income source in the Automation tab, then pull down to refresh on the Accounts tab and reconnect if prompted. The troubleshooting guide covers each cause step by step.
Is my bank data secure with PayDay?
Yes. PayDay can see your transactions and make only the transfers you set up in a split rule. It cannot send money to an account you have not nominated. Bank access runs through Akahu, New Zealand's open finance platform, and all data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Which New Zealand banks does PayDay support?
PayDay makes payments only from and to accounts at the supported banks, which include ANZ, ASB, BNZ, Kiwibank and Westpac. TSB, Heartland, SBS, The Co-operative Bank, Rabobank and credit unions are not available in PayDay yet.
